I grew up running to the mailbox. I had pen pals from Argentina, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Colorado, amongst others. Holding an envelope addressed to "Kayli" from a dear friend made my heart soar! I would walk with my envelope from the mailbox to the privacy of my bedroom and relish my letter. I still have many saved in my scrapbooks.
As a young mother navigating what sort of childhood I wanted to create for my children, I went back to letters. My little one would finger paint or scribble next to me while I wrote an update of her life to grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Her art-packed snail mail brought others so much joy (and still does!).
Now as a less-younger mother I want to bring that magic and connection to you, dear reader. And so, every month, I sit down in the wilds of my Utah mountains and write a vulnerable and honest letter to you. This is Moss & Mail. A monthly snail mail letter club for women who are yearning for something slower, something tangible, something in their mailbox — not on a screen. Something to bring magic to your day.
Slow down. Look closer.
Composed in nature, on beautiful paper, signed by hand, sealed with wax, and addressed to you. The letter will be vulnerable and honest — sharing the beauty I am finding, what I am struggling with, what I am mulling over. A letter from a friend.
The rest of the envelope is a surprise — chosen for the season, the month, the mood. Past envelopes have carried tea, a bookmark, or seeds. Some things come back. Some things only come once. That's part of what makes opening it feel like a gift every time.
"...come into the peace of wild things…" — Wendell Berry
This year, I radically cleared my family's calendar. We moved somewhere with mountains and quiet, and I started asking myself what actually brought my soul peace.
What I kept coming back to: Time spent deep in nature. Slow mornings dripping with classical music. Feeding my babies nourishing meals. Tiny feet splashing in mountain streams. A garden to tend to. Reading, reading, reading. Cultivating a beautiful life, daily.
Moss & Mail grew out of that. Out of a belief that women who are tired but trying, and love beautiful things, deserve to be reminded: the slower life is not somewhere else. It is available right now, in whatever space you have, with whatever you have in it.
Kayli Angeleaux is a Utah-based creative entrepreneur, slow living advocate, and founder of Moss & Mail, a monthly handwritten letter subscription club. She creates content at the intersection of intentional motherhood, Charlotte Mason homeschooling philosophy, and analog living — encouraging women to slow down, write more letters, and reconnect with nature and the people they love. Kayli's work is rooted in the belief that receiving a handwritten letter can change the pace of an ordinary day.
"It is the small everyday deeds of ordinary folk that keep the darkness at bay.
Small acts of kindness and love." — The Hobbit Film
Every month, a thick envelope arrives addressed to you.
My little team and I will always personally take part in the preparation, filling, and mailing of every envelope. We will never use machines. Every envelope will be prepared by a loving human for you.

Give as a gift →Moss & Mail is a monthly letter subscription club founded by Kayli Angeleaux, largely inspired by the towering wild mountains near her home. It is a community where women can find beauty, a slower pace, and analog living.
Each month, subscribers receive a curated envelope with a personal letter composed in nature and signed by hand, a QR code for a Spotify playlist, a "Letter to the Editor" Q&A, a nature-inspired journaling prompt, a recipe card, a photo from the nature surrounding Kayli or children's artwork, and a surprise. Everything is chosen slowly and with intention.
Moss & Mail is designed for any woman seeking a slower, more intentional pace of life. Whether you are a stay-at-home mom, a woman who works outside her home, a homeschooling mother, a grandmother raising grandchildren, or a young woman desiring a less technical world — Moss & Mail is for you. It also makes a meaningful gift for Mother's Day, birthdays, Christmas, or just because.
Yes — that is exactly what Moss & Mail is. Before writing each letter, Kayli steps away from the noise and goes into nature to think, observe, and compose. Each letter is written with intention, printed on beautiful stationery, signed by hand, and sealed with a wax seal. Personal, unhurried, and made for you.
Moss & Mail is deeply inspired by Charlotte Mason philosophy — nature study, living books, and the cultivation of beauty in everyday life. Each of the package components is "living" — an essential Charlotte Mason principle, making Moss & Mail a natural complement to a Charlotte Mason homeschool or morning basket.

How to slow down while working within the realities of children's near-constant needs is a lifelong art, one that Kayli has been a student of since the birth of her first child. She is no expert, but a friend willing to share ideas she has picked up along the way. As a community, we are stronger. The letter club, as well as Kayli's social media pages, are a great starting point if you want to slow down with your beautiful children.
